Marble Slab Creamery Cones for Kids

On Saturday August 25, two Bigs and two Littles had an exclusive tour of Marble Slab Creamery in Burlington at 3047 Appleby Line. They had a blast!

Big Brother Trevor, Little Brother Justin, Big Sister Andrea and Little Sister Michaela were honorary guests for the Cones for Kids kickoff. After taking part in a tour and learning about how Marble Slab’s ice cream is made, they participated in an inaugural scooping for the national third-party campaign.

On Cones for Kids day—Saturday, August 25—Marble Slab Creamery donated $1 from every purchase to our Agency’s mentoring programs across the country. During the entire Cones for Kids event from Friday, August 24 to Monday, September 3, customers could donate $1 to their local Big Brothers Big Sisters and display a paper cone on the wall of the ice cream shop.

Three days into the campaign, Luisa Muhleisen, Manager and Co-Owner of the Appleby Marble Slab location said, “Our store walls are filling up fast from selling paper cones as the majority of customers opt to make a donation for such a great cause!”

Luisa led the tour for our Littles and Bigs. While the Littles could not contain their smiles, Luisa was also affected by the tour in her own special way. “Personally, it was very heartwarming for me to see the Bigs and Littles at the store and to see first-hand the obvious difference it makes for the young ones and the rewards it gives back to the Bigs.”

This year marks the fifth year that Marble Slab Creamery has run its Cones for Kids for Big Brothers Big Sisters. As an Agency, we are grateful and delighted for the partnership.
